Abbey Street, Rhyl
Summary
The project involved the demolition of a row of vacant and dilapidated three storey terrace housing within the town centre and the construction of new two storey row of terrace housing providing affordable homes. The works also involved the renovation of an existing building.
The project was technically challenging. There were some existing basements to fill, and the ground was poor quality and required a cantilevered raft foundation. The alterations to the refurb required extensive bespoke design and detailing to allow the new layouts to be integrated with the existing structure.
Datrys provided full civil and structural engineering design services for the development and construction stage support, and we worked closely in collaboration with the architect and contractor.
