Bryn Seiont, Caernarfon: Phase 2
Summary
This new Extra Care facility was built on the site of an old hospital. The project was constructed in stages and comprised the construction of two extensive buildings providing accommodation for 71 residents in addition to care staff.
Datrys provided full civil and structural engineering services for both phases of the development, working closely with the contractor on a design and build basis.
The structures comprise trussed rafter roofs, precast concrete floors, and loadbearing masonry walls. Foundations were traditional strip footings and had to be stepped in the location of a basement for the previous hospital.
